If you're looking for ways top stop blushing, you could spend a lifetime trying the next temporary solution, the latest green tinted make-up or some kind of foul home remedy that ends up gathering dust in the cupboard.

In reality, there is but a few genuine ways to stop blushing for good. In fact. the only way to stop blushing or at best to calm in down to a comfortable level of control is to reprogram our minds and subconscious thoughts.

Before we reach that stage, we first need to change our outlook on everyday things in life in order to truly stop the mental negativity that causes and triggers blushing in the first place.

I'd like to explain how we can understand how other people might perceive our blushing, simply by understanding how we would act if the tables were turned...

As a child, when we see something we are not familiar with such as a scary looking dog or a road with cars rushing past, we stare and retract from them.

As an adult, these reactions become less as we experience more. However, we still have this natural instinctive reaction to things we are not too familiar with.

So, when we see someone who blushes excessively or appears extremely shy, we tend to react just as we did as that young child - we stare and retract ourselves.

On the other hand, some people react in different ways such as laughter, criticising or questioning. These alternative reactions can be equally hard for those who suffer from shyness and blushing due to these reactions being the very cause of shyness and blushing in the first place.

Most of us however, take a little time to adjust to something new or less ordinary but, just as the child did, we become accustomed to such things in other people and move on.

So, knowing that by our very nature, other people's reactions and thoughts are only temporary...

...it becomes easier to accept our initial shyness and blushing behaviours.

Once everyone else has moved on after becoming accustomed to your uniqueness, you should also move on with them.

It is impossible to venture throughout this wonderful world if you continue to let a pre-occupation about your skin tone or personality hold you back.

All it tales is a little paddle in the big wide world to make many people realize that life is not so much about themselves but about others. If we all became so obsessed with ourselves the world would be a boring place to live in.

Furthermore, it is vital to understand that friendships and respect are gained from listening, helping and involving yourself in others. People are attracted to others who show interest and provide benefits in their own lives.

So whether or not you are prone to blushing, you will always have the ability to be a great friend, have great friends and achieve whatever you desire with a little dedication and hard work.

So look outward in life, in order to feel better inward. Shift the focus of your personal problems to that of helping others with theirs, and you will soon notice the shyness and blushing fading away like an old painting.

How to stop blushing around a guy?
I sort of have a crush on a guy. I’m not nervous at all around him, but I uncontrollably start blushing whenever we talk. How do I stop this? Also, I have a light olive-y skin tone; if I blushed would it show?

How can I stop blushing so much?
Every time I talk to someone I don’t know or get embarrassed my face turns really red. I can feel my face get red and then it makes me even more embarrassed and I’m sure my face gets even redder. Is there any way I can train myself to stop blushing? Or are there any tips to hide my red face? Please help!

    • Bill says:

lol, I have the exact same problem! Only my face only turns red when I lie, which really sucks! The thing that works for me is just getting more comfortable around other people or convince myself that the lie isn’t all that bad, lol. It works for me but it’s hard telling how it would work for somebody else; it’s worth the try!

I have pretty good skin..well I did, but I started using foundation because I would go red ALL THE TIME. I am so white and even if I am not embaressed I go red and people always comment.

How can I stop going red? any tricks you have?
Is there anything I can use instead of foundation..because I want to stop wearing it because it’s ruining my skin..

    I’m 14 btw..so I can’t get a fake tan or whatever..

    Thanks!

stop using foundation!!! especially at your age, you might develop an acne problem from it.

There is some moisturizers and spot treatments that are green in color and are made to reduce red.

If you put this green lotion on your face it reduces the red appearance. I can’t remember the name or brand, but I know i’ve picked some up before at a CVS in the discount bin.

Maybe go into dept store and ask for a product similar to what i’ve described at the cosmetic counter, just to get the name, then find it elsewhere at a cheaperstore.

nice skin (that blushes) is much better than messed up skin from foundation. Also- so many women invest good money into blush, so you shouldn’t be embarrassed by it- it is natural.

    • Bridget says:

well you could just sit there and never find anything funny and amusing and keep your facial expressions as blank as possible but that would get old really fast and people will think your anti social and weird. just be ok with it. i used to hate how much i blush all the time but then i realized no one really cares.

How to stop blushing whenever I see a guy?
So I’m going to be volunteering at a hospital, and all of the rest of volunteers are guys. When I was submitting my application, I was blushing like crazy and I’m afraid to embarrass myself with my blushing after I start volunteering.

    How do I stop?
Should I just wear skin-colored concealer?

    • lucy44 says:

aww i use to have the same problem! but good news there’s an easy solution its called green concealer. the reason why it works is because on the color scale green cancels out red so if you have a blemish or a really bad sunburn or just blush a lot this will work for you.
i use physicians formula and it works realllllly well it looks like green lipstick but its not lol. And its cheap i got it at target for $4.99! and of course you have to wear normal foundation on top of it but i would go with more of a yellowish tone instead of pink so that you have a little bit of color. I know this will work for you and once you confident about not blushing you might not have to use it anymore ;]
      goodluck!

How to stop serious blushing (already exhausted most simple remedies)
I’ve tried using my mind (reverse psychology), self-hypnosis audios, and other relaxation methods like EFT. So far, nothing has helped. I used to think it was just school but now it’s summer and i still find myself blushing at silly trivial incidents. PLEASE, if I could stop blushing, I could put my mind to important events coming up in my life. I am seriously thinking of altering my life/career plans because of this stupid problem. Medicine was going to be my last choice but at this point it may have to be used.

So ANY suggestions at all would be great! Thanks!

    • <3 says:

Here is what works for me: Imagine all your stress or fear collecting in a balloon you are holding in your hand. As the balloon fills, imagine letting it go and it floating up into the sky, farther and farther away from you. I know it sounds stupid, but it works!

Is there any way to stop blushing before you blush, what does it feel like when you blush?
I heard that you can stop yourself from blushing? What does it feel like when you blush? I remember my friend whispering something dirty into my ear so I would blush because he knows that type of stuff makes me easily blush and then he says I look cute blushing so I would blush even more. Then he makes fun of me when I stutter because I blush. Does anyone else stutter when they blush?

How do I stop blushing at everything?
Blushing has been ruining my life for years now. I can’t even approach people now in fear of blushing. I blush at every little thing, simple questions, everything. Is there any way I can stop it?

    • helper says:

You blush because of a feeling of embarrassment. Try to figure out why you are feeling embarrassed. Does it make sense? Until you can stop feeling like everyone is judging you and thinking bad things about you, you will continue to blush. I think you care too much about the opinions of others, and this is a mistake. Why should you care so much about what everyone thinks? Are they paying your bills? I think not.

How to stop blushing infront of your crush?
Ok maybe there isnt an answer, but how do you stop blushing when your crush talks to u it yappens all the time and i can feel my face turn hot or warm, i want to stop blushing in front of him

    • Naina says:

      Difficult situation you’ve got there!
I don’t know if my advice will work but try it. When he talks to you, make sure you’re not focusing on his face. I mean, look at him, make eye contact but concentrate on what he’s saying. Another thing would be think about something else but you might end up not listening to him!
All I’m saying is, guys find those blushy girls extremely cute so you don’t have to worry too much!
      He’ll think you’re really sweet!
